Origami Arts

Origami is the art of paper folding, which originated in Japan in the 17th century. It involves folding a single sheet of paper into a sculptural or functional form, without cutting or gluing. The goal of origami is to create a beautiful or useful object using a minimalist approach and simple materials.

Majority of my origami work is based on modular origami. Modular origami, also known as unit origami or multi-piece origami, is a type of origami that involves creating a sculpture or structure using multiple identical pieces of paper that are folded and assembled into a single unit. These units are then connected to form the final shape.

One of the main benefits of modular origami is that it allows for the creation of larger and more complex structures than traditional single-sheet origami. It also allows for more flexibility in terms of design, as the units can be rearranged or connected in different ways to create a variety of shapes and patterns.

Modular origami requires a bit more patience and attention to detail than traditional origami, as each unit must be folded precisely in order for the final structure to be stable. However, it can be a fun and rewarding challenge for those interested in exploring the creative possibilities of origami.

Here are some of the paper folding art that I have made. I do fold various designs, including from other artists and my own origami designs. I post most of my work at my Instagram account, where you can find in the Links page.
